Micah. Aka Moose. I had many nicknames growing up. But Moose, now that was a character created, not just a name given. I have worked many jobs, everything from being a butcher in middle Tennessee to an EMT in south Louisiana. The industry I have been the most involved with is the service industry. From serving to bartending, anything front of house, I have worked multiple times. In my times of nomadic travels, I found myself in Texas a number of times.
I end up in Fort Worth, Texas working at an Outback Steakhouse. There was another Micah working there, and Micah ain’t a common name so it was pretty odd for two to be in the same spot. People kept messing up tickets because they weren’t used to another Micah. At one point the general manager just looks at me and says, “we keep f****n up tickets. We need another name for you.”
Didn’t bother me. Been called a bunch a things. But I shit you not, my buddy Clay pops around the corner and says, “I’m gonna a start callin’ you Moose. I don’t know why, but I’m goin’ to.”
Fast forward a little bit and I find myself at a restaurant called Social House and I’m introduced to brunch. My life was changed. I fell in love. I love breakfast food, and day drinking is definitely the best time to drink. That’s when I realized brunch ain’t just for rich old white ladies at country clubs. Thus, I bring you Mimosas With Moose.
